We offer permanent stabilization reagent products for in situ remediation of soils and sludges contaminated with heavy metals. Successfully used by municipal, state, federal and private sector clients for more than a decade to treat heavy metals contamination.
Free Flow was utilized to stabilize a variety of heavy metals including lead, chrome, cadmium, antimony, selenium, and zinc at several locations on site.
The project was completed in conjunction with U.S. Army Corp of Engineers and Texas Commission on Environmental Quality. The project involved the treatment of 12,000 tons of soil.
Free Flow 100® reagent (FF-100) was chosen over the competition and approved by the Army Corps of Engineers and U.S. EPA as the most effective reagent for this project.
We provided treatment product (FF-100) and engineering oversight for the effective treatment of 7,890 tons of heavy metals contaminated soils at an army ammunition plant. Free Flow was required to treat for all eight (8) RCRA metals to below the Toxicity Characteristic (TC) levels. The primary metal of concern was barium with lead and cadmium and the other metals as a secondary concern.
All 7,890 tons of soil was effectively treated using an application rate of 5% (by weight). The totals levels of barium were >50,000 mg/kg (ppm). The untreated TCLP barium level was 1,100 mg/L (ppm) and was reduced to a range of 1-5 mg/L (ppm) with the 5% application of FF-100. The photographs capture the ability of our product to effectively mix with the soil. The tilling device was capable of mixing the one application of FF-100 to a depth of 24 inches.
Our BSTS help us identify appropriate chemistry, formulation, dosages and pricing options.
We use applied chemistry laboratories for conducting research on new blends and performing treatment studies.
These labs are equipped with the necessary facilities to continually research new blends for Free Flow by taking advantage of available products. BSTS allow development of site specific blends for Free Flow clients resulting in increased efficiency and cost reduction.
Free Flow’s bench scale treatment studies provide the following:
